Universal Audio Volt Gen 2 & Volt Max Series: Professional Studio Sound for Every Creator
Universal Audio has expanded its acclaimed Volt range with six powerful recording interfaces for everyone from solo artists and content creators to full bands and professional studios. The lineup includes the Volt 1 Gen 2, Volt 2 Gen 2, Volt 4 Gen 2, Volt 2 Max, Volt 4 Max, and Volt 4P Max, delivering a scalable recording solution with Universal Audio's renowned sound quality.
Built by the same team responsible for UA's legendary Apollo interfaces, every Volt model is designed to make professional recording accessible and intuitive. Across the range, users benefit from premium 32-bit/192kHz audio conversion, USB-C connectivity, class-compliant operation, and compatibility with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone devices. Whether you're recording a demo, producing a podcast, streaming live content, or tracking a full band, Volt interfaces provide exceptional fidelity and ease of use.
A standout feature throughout the series is UA's Tone Shaping technology, which introduces analogue-inspired character directly at the recording stage. Select models offer Warmth, Focus, and Shine modes that emulate classic tube, solid-state, and British Class-A preamp tones. The Volt Max series goes even further by introducing onboard Max Processing, delivering real-time compression presets inspired by iconic UA hardware such as the 1176 and LA-2A, helping creators achieve polished, radio-ready recordings without additional plugins.
The range grows with your creative ambitions. From the compact Volt 1 Gen 2 through to the flagship Volt 4P Max, users gain access to expanding levels of connectivity including multiple microphone preamps, Hi-Z instrument inputs, MIDI I/O, ADAT expansion, loopback recording, talkback microphones, dual headphone outputs, Smart Displays, Auto-Gain, Clip Protection, and monitor switching capabilities. These features make the Volt series equally comfortable in home studios, content creation setups, rehearsal spaces, and professional production environments.
Every interface includes a generous bundle of professional software, featuring the award-winning LUNA Digital Audio Workstation, premium UAD plug-ins, instruments, Melodyne Essential, Plugin Alliance software, UJAM virtual instruments, and more. Combined with rugged build quality and portable USB-powered operation, the Volt Gen 2 and Volt Max Series deliver a complete recording ecosystem that helps musicians, producers, podcasters, and creators capture their best performances anywhere inspiration strikes.
